What is KRA's CRSP (Current Retail Selling Price)?
Last updated · Cada car guides
The CRSP (Current Retail Selling Price) is KRA's list of what each car model would sell for new in Kenya. KRA uses it, less depreciation for age, to set the customs value of imported used cars instead of the invoice price. The current schedule took effect on 1 July 2025, replacing a list in use since 2019, and covers thousands of trim-level versions.

How Cada uses the CRSP
Cada's model pages, year pages and import estimates read KRA's July 2025 workbook as published, with the edition named on every figure. Nothing is added to or adjusted in KRA's values; estimates apply KRA's own template formula.
Things to know
- The CRSP is a new-car retail value, so it is far higher than a used car's price. Depreciation brings it down.
- Each model has many CRSP rows (engine, grade, drive). Duty depends on the exact version.
- A higher CRSP means higher duty, which is why the same model can cost very different amounts to import.
Is the July 2025 list in force?
KRA announced the schedule on 30 May 2025 for use from 1 July 2025. Around the same date the High Court in Kisumu issued an interim order suspending it pending a hearing; Cada has not seen a published final outcome. Cada's figures use the July 2025 schedule. Before you pay, ask your clearing agent which list KRA is applying to your entry.
