Best SUVs under KES 3 million in Kenya

Under KES 3 million the SUVs most Kenyans consider are compact crossovers such as the Honda Vezel and Toyota C-HR, and mid-size SUVs such as the Nissan X-Trail, Subaru Forester, Mazda CX-5 and Toyota RAV4 in older model years. Compact crossovers fit the budget in newer years; larger SUVs such as the Toyota Harrier usually need an older year or a locally used car. The table shows which models fit KES 3 million as fresh imports.

Check before buying

  • 2WD or 4WD: many Japanese crossovers are front-wheel drive only.
  • Engines above 1500cc pay 25% excise, which raises import cost.
  • Tyre size and price: large SUV tyres cost more to replace.
